Tektronix, Inc. , a market leader in test, measurement and monitoring equipment, today announced the sale of 642 Arbitrary Function Generators (AFG310s) to 25 top universities in China. Purchased by China International Tendering Co. (ITC) on behalf of the China Government, Ministry of Education, the sale is part of the China Higher Education Reform Project, sponsored by World Bank. The project will enhance basic electronics education labs in the country's top universities, enabling the students to learn concepts of modern electronics with real-world instruments.
In a related sale, ITC also purchased 832 Tektronix TDS210 oscilloscopes. Together with the AFG310s, the equipment will be used to teach students how to simulate lab situations where they will generate, measure and analyze various test and measurement functions.
"Tektronix' long-standing commitment to education dates back to our founders. This purchase will enable the next generation of design engineers and technicians to develop, design, deploy and manage products that support the evolving global information infrastructure," said David Churchill, vice president, Instrumentation Business Unit, Tektronix.
About the AFG310
The Tektronix AFG310 is used to generate "real world" signals with all the glitches, drift, noise and other anomalies that a device under test (DUT) will encounter when it leaves the lab or manufacturing floor. The AFG310 operates by providing stimulus to the DUT. An oscilloscope, such as the TDS210, captures the waveform for measurement and analysis. The captured waveform can be re-played back to the AFG310 through the General Purpose Interface Base connection for further test and analysis.
About the TDS210
Offering an unbeatable combination of performance, reliability and versatility, the TDS200 Series offers breakthrough digital and real-time advantages at low-cost analog oscilloscope prices. The TDS210 is ideally suited for the bench, production line or training lab.
