EDN Selects Tektronix Logic Analyzer as Finalist for Innovation of the Year
TLA7000 Series Selected for Speed, Displays, and Automated Measurements

Tektronix, Inc. , a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced the TLA7000 Series Logic Analyzer and application software version 5.0 has been selected as a finalist for the 16th annual EDN Innovation Awards. Instituted in 1990, the Innovation Awards honor the people, products and technologies that have shaped the semiconductor industry over the past year and have demonstrated innovation that resulted in a significant advance in technology and/or product development.

"The advancements that distinguish the finalists in the annual EDN Innovation program may seem subtle -- minimally lower power, a slight reduction in cost, the ability to discern a faster signal, or the gateway to new semiconductor processes," said Maury Wright, EDN Editor-In-Chief. "Yet those subtleties represent hard-won engineering victories that make all the difference in the latest compelling consumer products, computers, and communication systems. I congratulate all of this year's finalists for advancing the state-of-the-art in everything from discrete components to processors to chip-design tools."

As a finalist, the next step will be for electronic engineers and managers to vote online between now and February 28, 2006. Online ballots can be found at: http://www.edn.com/index.asp?layout=InnovationAwards&year=2005 . Winners will be announced at a ceremony on April 3, 2006 in San Jose, CA.

"We are honored to be selected by the editors of EDN as a finalist for this exclusive awards program," said Martyn Etherington, Vice President, Instruments Marketing, Tektronix. "The EDN Innovation Awards are dedicated to honoring truly outstanding engineering products in the electronics industry. The TLA7000 Series and application software version 5.0 provides breakthrough digital systems analysis tools that are ideal for use with high speed serial buses and enable digital hardware and software designers to capture and analyze the source of elusive problems that threaten product development schedules."

About the TLA7000 and Application Software Version 5.0

TLA7000 Series provides throughput that is at least 4-6 times faster than previous mainframe models enabling faster data analysis and more rapid zooming, searching, filtering and scrolling. The TLA7000 Series utilizes Windows XP Professional and the latest Intel Pentium M processors to provide analysis speed that is twice as fast as the nearest competitor. The TLA application software v5.0 provides new capabilities to streamline operation including industry-first logic analyzer drag-and-drop automated measurements and triggering, dramatically enhanced user interface, featuring more intuitive navigation reducing the number of clicks required to obtain information enable a substantial productivity boost.
