China Electronics Standardization Institution (CESI) Selects Tektronix as Premier Test Equipment Vendor for IT Testing and Certification
CESI Uses Tektronix Instruments for Enhanced Conformity Testing and Certification to Support Emerging Technical Standards and Next Generation Digital TV

Tektronix, Inc. , a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that China Electronics Standardization Institution (CESI) has chosen Tektronix as the premiere test instrument vendor for upgrading its IT testing and certification center. The new test equipment from Tektronix will empower CESI to deliver high quality conformity and certification services to electronics manufacturers throughout China. The new equipment includes the VM5000, MTS430, MTX100A video test instruments and TDS7104 oscilloscopes and will be deployed in the CESI laboratory of Information Technology Products.

As the only domestic third-party conformity assessment body performing IT products certification based on state mandatory standards, CESI carries out tests, inspection and certification of Chinese IT products and related equipment on behalf of the Chinese government. Due to the rapid investment in the local electronics industry, CESI enhanced its IT test systems to support the evolving industry standards and the more complex measurement requirements resulting from changes in the market. By incorporating Tektronix equipment in its testing platform, CESI enables equipment producers and broadcasters to better manage the performance of the latest high-speed circuitry and new DTV protocols through testing service and technical support. The new package of advanced testing tools will enable the test lab to be more productive, saving engineering time and achieving more reliable results.

In addition to the newly added instruments, the test and interoperability laboratory at CESI already includes the VM700T Automated Video Measurement Set, the MTS430 MPEG Test System, the MTX100A MPEG Recorder and Player, the PQA300 Picture Quality Analyzer, the WFM700M Waveform Monitor and the TDS7404B Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes. The purchase of additional instruments reflects the endorsement of CESI for Tektronix test instruments.
