Tektronix, Inc. , a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that Television Broadcasts Limited, commonly known as TVB, one of the largest producers of Chinese language TV programming in the world, has adopted Tektronix WFM7100 waveform monitors to achieve the latest video distribution, broadcast monitoring, and measurement capabilities. With the WFM7100 Series monitors, TVB is able to verify error-free distribution of digital video and audio content.
The TV broadcasting industry is challenged to manage more complex and rapidly changing technologies during the transition from legacy analog systems to emerging digital video systems. Many TV broadcasters including TVB are looking for highly-capable, cost-effective, easy-to-use waveform monitoring solutions that have the monitoring and measurement capabilities they currently need and can later upgrade the instruments to meet new requirements. TVB has also chosen the WFM7120 field upgrade kit. The WFM7120 upgrade kit offers WFM7100 customers an opportunity to extend their investment in the WFM7100 and take advantage of the latest advancements in waveform monitors.
"TVB has been well recognized as a leading Chinese TV program producer, and continues to ensure that our broadcast platform is of the highest standard," said Bruce Kruger, TVB's Controller of Engineering. "We believe the deployment of Tektronix WFM7100 Series waveform monitors will enable TVB to establish and maintain a more robust system to distribute and broadcast high quality digital TV programs to our audience."

Tektronix WFM7120 Series waveform monitors offer customers the widest range of product configurations and upgrades, and industry-first capabilities that enable the seamless migration from composite video configurations to complete HD/SD solutions.
The WFM Series waveform monitors enable users to quickly and accurately characterize video equipment and systems, resolve video and audio content faults, data protocol errors, and timing problems. With FlexVu™ display capability, Tektronix WFM Series waveform monitors also enable a flexible combination of waveform and vector displays with full-quadrant picture and audio displays, as well as the display combinations that are not available on other waveform monitors. The WFM Series reflects the industry's greatest upgrade flexibility providing customers an opportunity to add options as required to support the changing needs of their business.
"We are very pleased that TVB has adopted the Tektronix WFM Series waveform monitors for their broadcast platform," said James Alderton, Marketing Director, Tektronix Asia Pacific Region. "This advanced solution from Tektronix will enable them to maintain their analog systems while taking full advantage of new digital technologies."
