Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that the MSO4000 Mixed Signal oscilloscope and Ultra-Wideband Spectral Analysis software for the DPO/DSA70000 Series Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes have been named finalists in the Test & Measurement category for the 2008 EE Times ACE Awards Ultimate Product of the Year. This award recognizes the technologies that demonstrate cutting-edge breakthroughs, innovation and leadership.
The Ultimate Products of the Year Award is determined by large-scale peer review. Finalists in each category are chosen by qualified readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter.com on a quarterly basis via electronic balloting from a list of nominees submitted to readers by expert editors.
"This year's finalists represent top products in the industry and we are delighted to be able to name two Tektronix products as finalists in the Test & Measurement category," said Junko Yoshida, editor-in-chief, EE Times. "The 2008 EE Times ACE Awards Finalists represent the new innovation in our industry. The products chosen as finalists exemplify those that show promise in the continual growth and execution of forward-thinking technologies for the future."
"We are honored to have two of our products named finalists in the 2008 EE Times ACE Awards," said Martyn Etherington, vice president, Tektronix. "The rapid speed at which technology is changing challenges all members of the ecosystem to keep pace. The recognition for two of our products reinforces the Tektronix focus on innovation for the new digital world."
The new MSO4000 family of mixed-signal oscilloscopes is a mixed signal design validation and debug tool for designers. The MSO4000 combines three powerful capabilities -- an advanced real-time oscilloscope and logic analyzer, and the breakthrough Wave Inspector waveform search engine. It features two or four analog channels and 16 digital channels to provide up to 20 time-correlated channels, long-record length on all channels, comprehensive support for monitoring, triggering, and decoding parallel and serial buses, and industry-best price/performance for a MSO.
The new Tek Ultra-Wideband Spectral Analysis software extends the UWB debug and analysis capabilities of the Tektronix DSA70000, DPO70000 and TDS6000C Series -- the industry's highest multi-channel performance real time oscilloscopes -- to include real-time analysis of Ultra Wideband RF and electrical signals. UWB wireless technology promises a data transfer rate beyond 1Gbps to meet the demand of data-intensive future applications. With the Tektronix Ultra-Wideband Spectral Analysis application, engineers will be able to design, debug, and validate performance of WiMedia Ultra Wideband radios used in Certified Wireless USB, WLP and High Speed Bluetooth consumer electronics.
