BEAVERTON , Ore. , January 10, 2011 - Tektronix, Inc., a leading manufacturer of oscilloscopes, today announced that several new products introduced over the past year have been selected as finalists by the editors of Test & Measurement World magazine to receive a Best in Test 2011 industry award. The products moving into the finalist round include the TLA7SA00 Series Logic Protocol Analyzer, DPO4USB USB 2.0 bus analysis solution, and FCA3000 and FCA3100 Timer/Counter/Analyzers andMCA3000 Microwave Counter/Analyzers.
“Our editorial team evaluated many commendable products in choosing Best in Test finalists,” said Rick Nelson, Test & Measurement World editor-in-chief. “Tektronix introduced a number of impressive products over the past year and continues to stand out as an industry innovator year after year.”
A total of 16 category winners are determined by the magazine’s readers who vote online between now and February 25, 2011, atbit.tmworld.com/finalists. Best in Test award winners for each category will be announced in April on www.tmworld.com and published in the May issue of Test & Measurement World. The product that receives the most overall votes will be named the 2011 Test Product of the Year.
The TLA7SA00 Series Logic Protocol Analyzer solution for PCI Express is designed as a single tool to span from the protocol layer to the physical layer. It helps system, hardware and software engineers perform collaborative debug and quickly find the root cause of system issues. To enhance the physical layer visibility, the TLA7SA00 Series incorporates OpenEYE technology into the system’s design. OpenEYE provides automatic tuning equalization to enable probing anywhere on the PCI Express channel.
The DPO4USBserial triggering and analysis module transforms a host oscilloscope, the Tektronix MSO /DPO4000 series, into an acquisition, display and analysis solution for delivering insight into serial bus behavior. ForUSB2.0 low-speed, full-speed, and high-speed data rates, it triggers on user-defined packet content and displays the results as time-correlated waveforms and data packets. The module enables the oscilloscope to automatically decode the packet streams, showing information like SYNC , handshake packets, token packets and data packets. Users can trigger on specific packet content, decode the entire acquisition and search for an event of interest—all with just a few button pushes.
The Tektronix FCA and MCA Series timer/counter/analyzers pack the functionality of a frequency counter and timer into a single instrument. The instruments offer industry-leading resolution so engineers can capture very small frequency and time changes. And with comprehensive analysis modes—including measurement statistics, histograms, trend plots and modulation-domain analysis—users can quickly and accurately analyze signals.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the editors of Test & Measurement World as a finalist for the Best in Test 2011 industry awards for multiple products in multiple categories,” said Martyn Etherington, vice president, Worldwide Marketing, Tektronix. “We work hard to deliver the innovative, game-changing products that our customers demand—and these nominations showcase that dedication.”
