Singapore’s Nanyang Polytechnic Awards Tender to Tektronix for Video Test
MTM400 and MTS4SA Enables Video and Compliance Test Learning for Students

BEAVERTON, Ore., November 5, 2008  - Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) in Singapore has chosen Tektronix MTM400 MPEG Transport Stream Monitors and MTS4SA PC Based MPEG Analysis Tools.  The new instruments and software will equip NYP students with industry-leading video test equipment and provide a standards compliant environment in video transmission and receiver technology. It will also provide students with the opportunity to work on DVB-T technology and develop receivers (set-top boxes) to decode transmissions.

The technology provided by Tektronix will enhance the industry readiness and competitiveness of NYP students through use of the latest video and compliance test equipment to develop high quality video transmission technology. The MTM400A provides a complete solution for real-time transmission monitoring of MPEG transport streams over RF, IP, and ASI interfaces. The powerful user interface provides intelligent hierarchical views of network information, media, and data allowing engineers to rapidly identify the root cause of underlying service problems. The MTS4SA supports a wide range of DTV standards, including MPEG, DVB, ATSC and ISDB.
