Oscilloscopes Named Finalists for EE Times ACE Awards
Products Selected for Forward-Thinking Technology and Creativity

BEAVERTON, Ore., January 30, 2007 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE:TEK), a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that the DPO4000 and DPO7000 Series Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes have been named finalists for the 2007 EE Times ACE Awards Ultimate Product of the Year in the Test & Measurement category. The EE Times ACE Awards recognize the electronics industry's creators of technology who demonstrate cutting-edge breakthroughs, innovation and leadership.

The Ultimate Products of the Year Award - awarded to the most significant product introduced in the last 12 months in seven categories - is determined by large-scale peer review. Finalists in each category are chosen by qualified readers of EE Times and eeProductCenter.com on a quarterly basis via electronic balloting from a list of nominees submitted to readers by expert editors with accompanying editorial reviews.

"Tektronix is to be applauded for having two finalists in the Test & Measurement category," said Brian Fuller, editor in chief, EE Times. "The 2007 EE Times ACE Awards Finalists represent the execution of forward-thinking technologies and creativity that captures the imagination of consumers, illustrating the influence that electronics and embedded design professionals have on today's culture."

The DPO7000 are breakthrough instruments, based upon a new generation hardware platform that eliminates the trade-offs found in all other oscilloscopes between sample rate, record length and waveform capture rate. With technology innovation, unmatched features and specifications, the real-time DPO7000 is the world's first uncompromised performance oscilloscope.

The platform for the 500-MHz DPO7054, 1-GHz DPO7104, and the 2.5-GHz DPO7254 incorporates IBM 7HP silicon germanium technology. The DPO7054 and DPO7104 support optional deep record lengths to 200M while the DPO7254 reaches 400M. All models have vertical accuracy of ±1%, acquire more than 250,000 waveforms/s, and include the MyScope™ user interface.

The DPO4000 portable oscilloscope family ranges from 350 MHz to 1 GHz and is the first to offer the groundbreaking Wave Inspector™, an unprecedented set of easy-to-use tools for discovery and efficient viewing, navigating, and analyzing waveform data. With Wave Inspector, serial triggering, protocol decode, USB plug-and-play PC connectivity, a 10.4" XGA display, and smallest footprint in its class, the new portable DPO4000 simplifies debug and meets the pressing debug needs of embedded systems design engineers.

"The Wave Inspector from Tektronix is one of the most intuitive and useful new features on an oscilloscope since the company introduced MyScope on its high performance products," said Galen Wampler, President, Prime Data. "Wave Inspector is essentially the first instance of a new paradigm for searching through long record length acquisitions; it is to waveform management what search engines are to the Internet."

"The DPO4000 and DPO7000 were built on brand new architectures and it was our goal that these products address customer needs with innovative, industry leading technology, unmatched capabilities and performance," said Martyn Etherington, Vice President, Instruments Business, Tektronix. "It is an honor and outstanding recognition that two of our oscilloscopes, have been chosen as finalists for Ultimate Product of the Year."
