Chung Hua University Engineering College Selects Tektronix AFG3000 Arbitrary/Function Generators
Industry Leading Signal Sources Aid Faculty and Students with Intuitive Interface, Flexible Operation and Rich Functionality

BEAVERTON, Ore., March 29 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a worldwide leading provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced that the Engineering College of Chung Hua University in Taiwan has selected Tektronix AFG3000 arbitrary/function generators to upgrade its electronic engineering research and teaching capabilities. The college will deploy the AFG3000 series across its four labs to facilitate the delivery of courses including electronics, microprocessor, VLSI and FPGA, and to assist students in their research projects.

Chung Hua University recognized the need to upgrade the technology used in its laboratories to better address the growing need for highly skilled engineers. In pursuit of this aim, the college initiated the Integrated Teaching Laboratory (ITL) project including the upgrading of its labs with Tektronix AFG3000. The AFG3000 arbitrary/function generators provide students with access to state of the art test equipment. The upgraded university laboratories now serve as a platform to deliver advanced courses to all students.

This enables professors and students to see both detailed parametric values as well as gain an overall graphical appreciation for the waveform shape before connecting the AFG3000 to a device under test or to an oscilloscope. This approach provides an immediate improvement in classroom productivity and effectiveness."

With faster performance, a smaller footprint, a more intuitive interface and the largest display available on the market, the AFG3000 enables the faculty to more effectively carry out teaching programs and experiments. By integrating the AFG3000 with other test equipment in the laboratories, students are now able to connect to the lab via the Internet allowing students to conduct experiments remotely and to work on their assignments from home.
