"The industry's response to the 5 Series MSO has been incredible and is a clear testament to the innovation coming from Tektronix today," said Chris Witt, vice president and general manager, Time Domain Business Unit at Tektronix. "What truly makes the 5 Series MSO special, and why it is sweeping industry awards, is that it delivers more than innovation for the sake of innovation – it changes the way designers use oscilloscopes to be faster, easier and more intuitive. They gain real insights in less time and in turn can bring products to market faster."

The result of the largest single development effort in Tektronix history, the 5 Series MSO redefines the mid-range oscilloscope and delivers a host of innovations, including the industry's first FlexChannel technology that allows 4, 6, or 8 analog channels and up to 64 digital channels, integrated protocol analysis and signal generator, a new 12-bit signal acquisition system, a massive high-definition capacitive touch display, and a highly intuitive Direct Access user interface. These innovations give designers unprecedented flexibility and unmatched visibility into complex embedded systems.

Presented by Design News, the Golden Mousetrap Awards recognize companies and individuals that are not only reaching the pinnacle of achievement in their respective fields but are also pushing the envelope on what is possible within the industry as a whole. The award winners were chosen by an expert panel of judges based on design and engineering innovation, functional innovation, benefits to user, market differentiation, and competitive landscape.
